OK we are still waiting on the draw for antelope.
BUT the swan and crane draw was held and posted.
All of us got a swan tag and the D-I-L got a crane tag. I would prefer the crane but a swan tag is just as hard to draw, and fun too.Clap

OK think about the largest nasties goose that has been living off a sewage lagoon all it life and then make it three times bigger, Now you have a slight thought of how they taste.Sick

If you smoke them you can gag them down.
We add them to duck, goose, and sage hens all ground up and make what we call duck jerky. 
You can eat it but not a lot at one time.
BUT there great fun to hunt and shoot. 
We got a trumpeter once that had an 84" wing span.Shocked

Nothing says you have to "Eat" them.
But yes you Have to take and keep the breast, thighs, legs, and wings.

Will the dog eat them?? Everyone around home would go on and on about how many Canadian geese were around, I told them it's easy to figure, if they were at all edible the population would get thinned down! I have never hunted waterfowl, manly because, with the exception of a few duck species, they are terrible table fare!

Ate one Whistling swan, now called Tundra swan.

Should of say TRIED to eat.  tough, just like chewing rubber bands.  couldn't swallow it,

I really prefer to eat whatever I kill but theirs some animals that weren't meant to be eaten. They are still fun to shoot though.
