With summer coming the GD will come along on some of our PD hunts. Her 7mmx57 is a longer range choice but it comes with a heaver rifle and more recoil then here 20" barrel mini Howa 6,5 Grendel. So we are working up some loads for the 6.5. We think a 90 gr is as small as we can get.
We are getting around 2800 fps with the IMR8208.
The first 3 loads looked like we needed to try something else.
But then at the top end of our load data this happened.

BAM it works.
We will do a little more work but I think she can work with it.

Wow. That's an impressive group. That's definatly minute of prairie dog.

It amazes me how a powder charge change can bring shots together.

It doesn't get much better than that but seating depth has always been my last place to fine tune a load.

I think so. She has around 100 7mmx57 brass to fire form I hope to have her do that first. They shoot just as good as her already fire formed AI shells.Clap

That is really interesting. I've never had an AI anything. I've always assumed fire forming brass wouldn't be accurate at all.

I've always found powder charges that just about fill the case to the neck are the most accurate.

Good shooting to GD.  90grs should make short work on PDs.

I once lined up two PDs while hunting antelope with my 6.5, both heads flew off about 2 foot. SST
