had an amazing day at the range the other day. buttoning up development on my wife's 223 and my 25-06. found the loads i felt happy w/, so went to the range to proof them.

first up was the 223. 3-shot group at 200 yards: .242"

next, the 25-06. 3-shot group at 200 yards: .306

wow. i have to point out that these are not average group sizes, and that they are the best groups i have ever shot.

anyway, i can't contain myself any longer, my wife couldn't care less if the guns grouped 2 feet or .2", and i think my friends would rather talk about something less exciting (like fishing).

prairie dog town... here i come!

Dakota;

It's a pretty sure bet that you are seeing exactly the same thing every time the trigger breaks.  Good shooting.

Great shooting. I know what you mean about them not caring. "Aren't they all supposed to go in the same hole?"

I saw the same thing just a little bit ago. I set up that aluminum plate and she was out side. Bang..(2 seconds later)..PING. Over and over, I laughed my arse off! So did my daughted. My wife just said "So? Big deal."

you know you are in a pretty good groove on the bench when you are seeing the smoke through the scope on every shot. doesn't hurt to have no wind, and the x-hairs settle down nice and refuse to move...

and to think that my wife thought i was ruining her 223 when i had it torn apart for bedding, trigger work, whatever...

Dakotasin,

   What kind of rifles aree these?  Good work on the rifles, and loads - groups don't get that small very often.  But keep in mind your lucky your wife shoots at all.
