Stuffed-In-A-Can Quail

  • 2 dressed quail, quail should be skinned and split down the back
  • stuffing made with chunks of apple, orange slices, onion and celery
  • butter
  • aluminum foil
  • tomato can with one end cut out
  • hot bed of coals

Stuff body cavity with available ingredients and one inch cube of butter; wrap in foil with body cavities together. Stuff into tomato tin and bury in hot coals 8 to 10 minutes.
