OK here is a plan.
Scheels has a Stoeger M3500, $699 in RT max 5 and a 28" barrel.
But it is in Billings. It is a waterfowl set up which is fine.
The predator is a 24"  and textured Camo, and steady grip,$929 looks great but not available at this time.
I can get a steady grip, pistol grip for $121 in RT Max 4, very simmer to max 5. That's $820 is the fancy textured camo worth $109?
And I can get right now, well when we are in the Billings area shortly to hunt antelope.
Maybe the Scheels In Billings will ship it to my Scheels here?Confused

My Scheels and the Billings Scheels talked it through and I have it coming to my Scheels no freight or FFL charges, as it should be. They also ordered the steady grip to match the shot gun no freight.
 All in $828, I got it with the 28" barrel , my 870 is a 30" .
The coyote special I wanted only had a 24", could have got this one with a 26 but on shotguns I like'm long. That is still $150 more than my 8mm.Shocked

what glass, if any  will you get?

My turkey/'ote shotgun is a 870  12 ga 3" with a red dot; and a fully adjustable Poly-Choke..  love the red dot.

last few turkey have been killed with an arrow, and that bow also has a red dot.

For long turkey walks, I use a 20 ga 870 super-featherweight.  half the weight of the 12ga. (getting old).

No glass but it is drilled and tapped that say.
Just a red glow bead up front, like a bird gun.
Coyotes come and go very fast normally, point and shoot.
My 870 will kill them and put pellets through them at 70 yards plus.
.669 choke lead "F" shot 1 5/8 oz in the 3 1/2's, 1350 fps and 1 1/4 in a 3" at 1550 fps.
80% in a 30" at 60 yards with around 50% in a 10" paper plate at 50.
Average hit on a live coyote is 7. F is like a 22 caliber hitting 7 time works quite well. Hope the new coyote guns shoots as good.
The Stoeger comes with choke tubes, I'll see if they inter change.

I seem to remember you reload your shotshells?

For turkey I go for density, not velocity.
What do you load for 'otes?  I'm thinking you go for velocity to keep energy at hit high.

Yes I do. Rio blue 3" hulls, Federal red 3 1/2 hulls.
36ish gr of steel powder on the 3's and 34ish steel powder on the 3 1/2. lead "F" shot, nickle plated when I can get it, 1 5/8 oz in the 3 1/2's, 1350 fps and 1 1/4 in a 3" at 1550 fps. Published load from BPI ugly coyote flyer.
With an extended ported .669 choke, 80% in a 30" at 60 yards with around 50% in a 10" paper plate at 50. If I remember right there is something like 47 pellets in the 3'" and there my preferred load the 3 1/2 I don't feel buy me much but more pain.
Average hit on a live coyote is 7. F is like a 22 caliber hitting 7 time works quite well.

Last Crane load I did , two years ago where 2 full OZ of Nickel plated #6s 3 1/2, DANG!
This year where we plan to hunt is all steel, I'll use my dead goose load. 37 gr of steel and 1 3/16 oz steel #2 by #BB. polished, 1550 fps. Book speed. A full 1 1/4 oz wont fit...

seems you go for speed?

I always like light high velocity for ducks; but heavy slower loads for turkeys and 'otes.

Are you shooting cranes as they land (slow moving)?

"Are you shooting cranes as they land (slow moving)?"
How ever they get in to range...
Often time we get shot at them as the go out to feed.
This year I'll have my decoys too.
If I can get them to around 50 yards there mine.Embarrassed
New spot, new area, new set up We will see how it goes.
This area is only 100 miles one way not 160 like the other.
We could make more that one hunt.Clap
