I'll wait until the 15th, I bought a bear tag this year, first time in years, that way I go shoot some fool hens and maybe see a bear.  They should both be near berries, I guess if hucks still hanging around, I may have to get a few.

Look what I found on our FWP site

Webless Migratory Birds Regulations.

Eurasian Collared-Doves are an exotic species. The Montana

Fish, Wildlife, and Parks Commission has designated them an

unprotected species that may be taken without license, season,

or limit. They do not count against a hunter’s Mourning Dove

limit.

• Eurasian Collared-Doves, an introduced, exotic species are now

found throughout much of Montana, especially in and near cities

and towns. They differ from a Mourning Dove in that they are

larger, have a rounded tail rather than a pointed one, and they

have a black ring around the back of the neck. Because they

are not a native species, they are not protected under federal

regulations.

I knew I saw not going stupid !! I have been seeing some HUGE doves around and now I know why. I wonder if I should be out blasting them now??? It's only 5 days till they open the season on all of them.

Quite a few collared-dove around here, but have never seen one outside of the city limits.

With the current weather, it might be a pretty short mourning dove season around here.

I didn't know there was a season on rock doves.???

I kinda like the Eurasian doves. We have alot of them nesting in our trees. One neat thing about them is they stay here all winter. Kinda cool when you can hear them cooing in the dead of winter. Also they give my dogs something to point at all year round

an 1,1/2" of rain put our normal "East MT " hunt on hold.No one can Move in that out there. So we went out bu Geyser and Stanford. We had Rain ,wind, and snow all day long. We hunted 7 BMA's and Miles of State lands... not a bird. We saw 3 way out in a hay field but they flew off when we got about 200 yards from them HUMM??... I think as nasty as it was we would have had to step right on them to get them to move, but it was Great to be out hunting!!!
