I think it is just Ruger pissing more money away. I swear, Ruger Jr. has no phucking idea what he is doing. Sturm Ruger is going down the shit chute. They had 60 something million in the bank when the old man died, and now they are down to 17 million.

Hey NH I know a way they can put back the loss, something I have not been able to get answered from them no matter how many times I ask, maybe you can find out and heck be the hero. Everyone knows 99% of hunters have at least one Ruger in the safe, many times when I'm out in the field hunting with a shotgun I shoot a pump. I have others but I don't care for them. Why can't the brains of Ruger figure out that they could make money if they came out with a working mans shotgun, pump or auto they would sell. Look at it this way,I'm in a dirty, muddy, nasty old duck blind that I got to in my duck boat with wet muddy dogs tramping on everything or a goose pit with my Ruger Red Label stainless/syn. |

Well, the chairman won't buy it because he wants to make Rugers on the level of Kimber and such. The chairman wants to impress people on his level of social "class". That is why they are putting cartridges such as the 9.3x74R in the #1 and started the engraving stuff. That isn't what Ruger is supposed to be. Rugers are supposed to be the working man's firearm. Once the upper echelon of management figures that out, I think it will be better for everyone. I can understand wanting to still play up high with the #1 and the Gold Label, but most of the guns they have should be for the working man. I think they should do pump and auto shotguns, but I don't think they have the brains to do it anymore. Now, if I could get into the company...

Sir North & All; Sorry, engraving doesn't really do too much for me. My preference, if there has to be any, is for understated embellishment. The full-blown engrave everything that doesn't have a gold inlayed 'scene', type of art is a definate turn-off to me. 900F |

While I like tasteful engraving, I am generally down on Rugers. Their single action revolvers are another matter. I have owned several, and the operative is, owned. I wish I had them all back, but wish in one hand and shit in the other and see which one fills the quickest. I don't buy them, because there are so many more that I want. I will start again. PARADE PISTOL???? LOL, you know, engraving is the highest form of art of a gun maker. Looking at the engraved Ruger, it looks nice and crisp and I wonder who did it. Anyway, it doesn't detract from the accuracy and it enhances the value......Kingpin |
