Ruger American barrel, does any one need/want one in 3006. there is less that 100 shot out of it.
As you know I'm using the rest of it for the 7mm Mauser project. The 7x57 AI barrel should be here soon,I hope. We pulled the barrel off to be ready when it does.
Anyway send me an offer if you want it.
PS I will have a savage 270 barrel soon too.

The AI is more for case strech reduction rather then in creaced performance.
Josie the Little GD maybe is 90 pounds so recoil is an issue. We likely be loading on the light side.
We have some factory 175 gr shells and 80 other asst shells we will use for bras and barrel brake in.
Planning on 140's for hunting and 115's for varmints.
What's your take on Ackley Improved?

I do like the idea of an improved case.  Straightening the walls and blowing the shoulder out makes a sexy looking cartridge.  When I was doing my digging, I wanted to have something fairly potent built around an old 1903 .30-06 that I got when my grandfather died.  It was striped down to the action and rebuilt into a .280AI.

My dad shoots factory in his 7mmRemMag and I was able to achieve the performance he was seeing real easy using r22.  The rifle has been with me to nebraska, oklahoma and up to canada on some of my more memorable hunts.  Here in montana, too.   I love that rifle.    Heart   kor
