Hi Fellow BSB'ers...

Just picked up a NIB Ruger 22/45 MkIII with the 4 1/2" slabside barrel. Fixed sites. Same overall length as a real 1911.

This is a companion piece to the used/excellent Ruger MkII 5 1/2" bullbarrel I picked up last year.

Funny when I ordered the new 22/45 MkIII I screwed up & thought I was ordering the 5 1/2" bullbarrel model. When I noticed my mistake about a week later I called the mailorder supplier but my new pistol had already been shipped. Upon arrival I immediately realized that I had done the right thing after all. Funny how that works sometimes.

Regards, Marcus.

I just sold 3 of them to a set of brothers. I did not realize until I got them that they had plastic frames. They all love them to my relief. 5 1/2" barrels consecutive s/n's.

Endeavor to persevere.

I have the reg. mk2 version of that pistol only with nice wooden grips. In fact, I just got finished cleaning it about 30 minutes ago. Need to get out and shoot it more! It is one incredibly accurate little pistol. My pistol shooting is greatly improving with the little sweetheart.

I['ve got a 22/45, and am rather luke warm to it. Although it is supposed to replicate the 1911 functions, it is stiff, and out of position for me. Mine probably just needs more shooting, to smooth things up. The grip is also not comfortable to me, not matching my 1911's exactly. That is what I wanted, and in fact, is my only real complaint with the pistol. When buying it, I expected the grip to "grow" on me. Stupid thought. If it doesn't feel good in the store, it isn't going  to get better on the range. If you aren't to the point, that only a 1911 feels good in your hand, you can get one of these, and be absolutely satisfied, for the rest of your life. I've shot 1911's for nearly 30 years, and have a definite prejudice.

They are real sweethearts to shoot.  However, I am looking to trade or sale mine, to go to a model that suits me a bit better. I will say, it is a definite shooter. From my bench rest, at 100 yards, it will easily keep them on my 4X4" target. I own rifles, that won't do that.
