Fella's;

Not to put too fine a point on it, but I'm Pope-pissed!  Drove 45 miles out to the property early this afternoon & got ready to do some work over the chronometer.  Set everything up & the little electronic booger whirled & spit up about an inch of paper & pronounced itself ready for duty.

First shot went thru the screens just fine & the gizmo whirred as normal, but the readout read 001.  WTF!!  The  tape was no help.  Second shot - nuthin', no whirs, no readout.  Change battery, nothing.  Go back to original battery, nothin'.  Find old battery & put it in.  Double nada.

So much for 90 miles of driving to get some velocity data.

And, now I get to do essentially the same amount of gun cleaning for 3 lousy rounds as I'd had to do if the whole session had gone off as planned.  I just l-o-v-e to clean guns.

I may have to start drinking.

There are times when a normal man must, spit in his hands, hoist the black flag, and begin slitting throats.
