well, i've had rifles reproduce. quite often, actually. it happens w/ handguns, too, let me tell you.

went to the big city today to scope the srh... spent about 2 hours comparing scopes and dickering w/ the counter-jockey, until i got a deal that was liveable for me. wound up w/ a nikon 2x20, a shoulder holster to fit the gun w/ scope, and enough ammo and range time to zero the scope... the nikon was not as nice as the leupold or burris, but for the money it was fair. add in the range time and ammo, and i decided that i didn't need to spend high-dollars on a 150 yards and in scope. nikon it was.

so, after my range time was over, i went to go pay for my stuff, and next thing i know, my mouth just took over. have no idea what was said, or how it was said, but tomorrow morning i have to go back to sioux falls to pick up my new sig 229 in 40 s&w, galco holster, and ammo...

ahh, well... its only money. if i didn't spend it on a handgun, i would've spent it on a rifle... lol... my wife is unaware, as of now, of either purchase... lol! but, tomorrow i'm sure she'll say something along the lines of 'are you done buyin' em, now???' lookin' forward to a little range time w/ the 40, and a lot of range time w/ the 480!

Howdy DAKOTA  >>  Goodness, you've certainly been one busy fella with the gun purchasing as of late.  Good for you.

I got my Sig 2340 .357 Sig / .40 S&W at a gun show two years back :

She's a sweetheart.  It's my ccw, when I do so.  You're gonna love yours.  Post pics when they become available.

Congrats on another nice handgun !!!    Chat with ya later.  >>  klallen

LOL. Hey Dakota, thanks for the little scope info. Come on, why couldnt you just get a ruger p97 in .45 ACP and be done with it . A  matched pair  But anyways, at least you bought two guns that were made in NH. Bet you didnt know that!

nh- yeah, i knew that. if it is feasible, i try to buy american products. the state the stuff is made in matters not, just the country. sometimes i can't always afford the american stuff, so then i slip down to jap level or so, but i try... a ruger p97... lol... well, i didn't go w/ a p97 because i didn't want a gigantic, blocky, unrefined mass of 'stuff' w/ a garbage trigger, and difficult mag release trying to conceal itself on my body... there's just not enough room for that pistol and a person within the same wardrobe. also, it is not legal to hunt in s.d. w/ a 45 acp, but certain types of 40 is (cor-bon). last, i already have a 1911... if i was going to get another 45, it would either have been the sig 220, or another colt 1911...

klallen- when it rains, it pours. i go thru dry-spells that last a long time, where i can't even buy a pound of powder... so, when it is the wet season, i really stock up, and get ready for the dry season. just the way it goes...

interesting you have the 2340... i was not aware of this gun until i had already committed to the 229. unfortunate, because i would have liked to do a direct comparison, and see... but, i didn't even know this gun existed until too late... and, in order to keep from feeling bad, i still haven't handled one. these sigs... they really feel good in the hand. i have no idea how i'm going to stop at one. i guess that my checkbook will (has) stop me!  i'm already scheming on ways to come up w/ the cash for a 226 and a 220...

oh, yes, the pictures... i'll try to find a few minutes to do that later this week... like, the day i get the sig!!! yep... i got put on delay. surprised me, but oh well... expect to have the gun in a day or two. didn't realize that if i had the authorization number from the srh that all would've been well... but, couldn't get the auth. number because the other shop was closed... aw, hell... i'll just wait it out...
