 It's a little bulky, but the same weight as our shockwave. There was a break in the wind, kind of, north of the river. NO snow and little mud 45*. the morning, if you can call it morning at 8:00 sunrise. Winds were under 10 and mostly south. No traffic and only one bird hunter all day. We hit some places that looked very good with some sign, and a few tracks dried in the mud. Teton River breaks with a lot of sage. No coyotes showed but one, a few miles away, answered back. It was to the south, probably the only way we could hear it, but it also meant the big speakers were working as planned. We pounded out some more blanks as the wind increased. All the same type of land. We had one seek in downwind and hung up on the boys' side. He was shooting a 300 blackout, and a 400-yard shot was kind of a wish, but he tried. We did some more, by now it's full 25 MPH and gusty. Walking into another set, we jumped a coyote. It took off with the wind and ran LIKE the wind. By the time I laid down all the stuff I was carrying and set the sticks, it was nearing the 300-yard mark. It stopped for a look back. Somehow, I was ready and guessed the range and wind. I put it just under its back and mid Rear end. I was shooting the new Creed, 75 gr HP. The boy was on it with the binoculars. I had the drop perfect, but the wind was a smidge off. My bullet went through its "Brisket" for lack of a better word. Fur, blood, and stuff went flying, and it took off twice as fast as before. We watched till you just couldn't see it anymore, never slowed, dang. The last set. We called and called, one came in on the other side of the river, and on the top of the south break. It was kind of neat to watch how long it took the sound to go that far. Each time we tried a new sound, the coyote would hear it and raise its head to hawl back, but never broke. After 45 minets ot trying, we concluded it was NOT going to move. The wind was 25 plus and 45* into our face. The boy has a very good range finder, and it looked like someplace near 1200 yards slightly downhill. He picked up the creed and lay down on his pack. He said he put the coyote in the very bottom of the scope and the same for windage; in fact, he could not see the front shoulders of the dog. This time I was watching. WOW, good guess, he didn't hit the coyote, but the dirt flew mid-section coyote, but fell maybe a foot short. I know it didn't hear the shot, but it jumped a foot in the air, and its feet were running before it was back on the ground. It looked very funny. Good thing he didn't hit it, it would have been an hour for to for us to drive around to the other side and try to find it. I think it all went well. A few more tweaks to the caller, and I think we have a new weapon for the Montana winds.  ------------- Remember: Four boxes keep us free ,the soap box, the ballot box, the jury box, AND the cartridge box |

That's awesome. The wind has always been the problem for you guys. I like the way you overcome it. Did it work by being louder? ------------- I have always considered myself to be quite the bullshitter, But ocasionally it is nice to sit back and listen to a true professional......So, Carry on. |

"near Show-Toe?" No north east of Fort Benton, Marias and Teton River brakes. "Did it work by being louder?"
