Interesting turkey hunt (didn't get a bird today.

Up at 2am, on the road at 3 am.  My whole state is mountains so I walked up hill about a mile, but on a slant so I only gained 350 ft vertical, in the dark.  On my place at 5am, cloudy and dark; ser up 4 decoys and camo blind.
The season is toms only, shotgun only. and calling only (no stalking allowed).

Beautiful big hardwoods; only heard two gobbles both more than a mile away.  never saw another hunter.

5:45 opening hour, nothing!

In the next 45 minutes had 3 hens walk in to my calling
then 2 does (pne a pinto or piebald.
Then a 300# black bear attacked my foam decoys, aa cerch chased him/her of a mach 3.
then another deer, doe,

assorted hawks and eagles.

Must be out of the woods (law) by 12 noon.

great day.  and the weather man had said rain!

Any day in the woods is a good day.

Almost every time I go out either hunting, shooting, or just walking I see something cool.

I bet it was cool seeing a bear come to your decoys.

I have always considered myself to be quite the bullshitter, But ocasionally it is nice to sit back and listen to a true professional......So, Carry on.

Nice weather helps me enjoy.   62 oF and semi-sunny is great.
