Evening BSB's. Figured I'd give a little love to Mr. Sanford. I first heard of a Sanford semiauto in 2003. One of our local gun shops had the Javelina in their used rack $335. Got it in the safe and then did some digging and introduced myself to his Automag line. From 2005 - 2006 I went on a mission to add to the collection. Back then, the cost was definitely a consideration and I had to work Gunbroker auctions steady to get my price. AMT Automag III - 9mm Win Mag  IAI Javenlina Hunting Model - 10mm Auto  IAI Automag IV - .45 Win Mag  AMT Automag V - .50 AE The III's, IV's and V's all have the same plastic grip panels but the .45 and .50 would just chew them up under recoil. Not sure how many I had to replace before I decided to drop the 250$ and get 2 sets of custom wood panels from a company called Grips4U.net. I think they're sharp looking, too. There are a couple Sanford offerings I'd still love to add to the collection. An Automag III in .30 Carbine is at top of the list. But I may have waited to long. Over the years, they've only gained in value so getting into one for 1400$ - 1700$ is kinda the norm. Ouch. Handloads have been worked up for each firearm.
