deer season is over, blinds, rifles, crosbow all cleaned and put away.  As I type there is a herd of 5 deer bed down within 40 yards of my 'puter.

Was 8of this morning at 5 am when I got up.  now up to 32 of.   so I'm going squirrel hunting.

As a 16 year old we would hunt thr tree rats, and I'd bring home 5-6 at the end of the day.  It would take hours to skin those stiff early day dead ones.

Now as an old fa2t, I've learned.

Here is the only way to do it, and I do it as soon as the squirrel hits the ground.  simple.

As a kid, I'd get 4-5 early in the morning and do them up for breakfast with my brothers.  Later, it became a dinner affair known as the "Roasted Rodent Festival".  SWMBO won't have anything to do with game so I haven't taken one in a lot of years although if they keep getting into my birdfeeder, a couple of the little ba$tards may come to an untimely end downrange of the pellet gun.

Definitely, skin 'em while warm.  788
