been using flip up lens covers on most of my rifles.  Great for rainy  snowy days.  hit the red button and instant clear dry scope.

A good idea for sure those flip up lens covers.....however I just never got any of them. I do have for storage purposes those lens covers that come with some scopes on a stretchy band on most scopes. Certainly not meant for field use.

Those  freebies work in rain and snow IBD.  and I've used them.  they tend to FLY off when carried on a sling over shoulder.

Back in the day, we use to save the cotton tails from bunnies we hunted and set them gentle on the front lens when leaning it up on stand.

I used to use butler creek But they brake off the first or second use.
I find these are much better and fit tighter, IF you have the room.

Hey D, read several reviews and there were some issues. Have yours split the rubber around the lens as some have reported? That was after being on for a while not while installing.

My Butlers are 15-20 years old.  look and work perfect.  I find the red push buton, flip forward and they pop open.  a little more $$ but worth it, no side wall cracks or rips.  they also come in 60+sizes.  so it isn't a few models fit all thing.

Long ago I quit buying them on line, just go to local gun shop...they fit them perfectly.  Never had one crack or fall off.
