Seems for the last 20+ years big handguns have been popular.

Mine is a T/C contender in 375 winchester with 12 inch bbl.

It throws out a 270 gr Hornady at 1710 fps  BC is .380 so it holds its energy much further than most hand guns.

More powerful than a 455 Casull at the muzzle.  At 200 yards it has the same power as a 44 mag at the muzzle.

I'm a big Smith&Wesson fan. I have several but the biggest is a .357 Mag.

I had a model 29, 44Mag for a while but it wasn't fun to shoot. I traded it off for something I would use.

Most of my accumulation is K frame S&W's but probably my favorite is a 6 inch K-38 Masterpiece. That is the most fun and accurate handgun I own.

Best I can come up with is a couple of .44 magnum's....

I could never shoot 1911 or SBH.  they just don't fit my hand and under recoil move off target.

I have a Ruger SRH 44 mag, dad and uncles have several 29/629 Smiths. I have shot a 460 and 500S&W. I have had a hankering for a 454 or 480 ruger to play with. IMO, the 460/500s are way overkill, they are no fun to shoot. In all honesty a 44 is quite the handful. It is probably my favorite to load for and shoot. I have several rifles chambered in 44 as well. A 240gr JHP or hard cast SWC is serious deer medicine in my neck of the woods. 100yd shots are few and far between with somewhere between 30-60yds being the average. I can load it down with 44Sp and make it fun to plink or load it with a stiff charge of 296 (my go-to) and watch the fire fly out the barrel!!

My big gun are 45LC in a RBHs.  I have one with optics and a shortened 6" barrel for hunting and a 4 5/8" as my field gun when I'm working at the farm.  The short one usually has the snake shot loads in it for my slithery friends.

Still a convertible Ruger Single Six, so the 22 magnum...leaving aside the somewhat questionable practice of shooting a Savage 24C's 20-gauge barrel one-handed.

Those Savage 24s were nice guns.

Nice

Seemed like Taurus stopped making these Raging Bull M500's almost as quick as they introduced them.  It's a sturdy built revolver so don't think it was because of any mechanical issues.  I never heard of any issues, anyway, and certainly haven't experienced any.  Maybe just low sales numbers.  Taurus is taking another crack at the .500 with their Raging Hunter line now.

I use three loads in mine.  Hornady's factory offering using their 300 gr ftx.  They advertise almost 2100 fps.  I've never checked.  My go to handload using Leadheads 500 gr. wfngc at 1560 fps (snappy little number).  And my fun load uses a 700 gr fn cast at around 1200 fps.  There's as much bullet in the case as out of the case and it fills up the cylinder completely.  lol.   kor
