Weather has been beautiful, until yesterday.
Cool, rain, cloudy..ugh.
So I took a friendly pilot to the range for a day of
shooting rimfires. A fun day of shooting.
During our 100 yard event, a turkey or two walked out
onto the range at about 150 yards...girls, no tom's.
Got my call from the car and called in a gobler from
200 yards away. Got him with in a few yards of the
benches. Use my mouth version of a hot hen and got
many full displays. About a 9" beard.
Season is in now but no rifles allowed- and it
wouldn't have seemed sporting to ace him with a range
rifle.
Didn't know it but one of my brothers was turkey
hunting about 400 yards away. talked to him last
night, he saw nothing!
nice day at the range.
Anyone hunting these dumb birds???

Damned things are everywhere here. Yard, roads, parking lots.....just so long as they stay out of my grill. Hear they taste like chicken though and it's only .29 cents a pound, so I save my ammo.
------------- ...oh yeah! thats gonna hurt!

I took a video of it. This is a screen shot. He gobbled quite a few times
and was strutting and dragging his wings. All this with shooting going
on all around.
Thanks for the fun day Bear.
