I did a transfer of a New Model Stainless Blackhawk 5.5" today. I got to run four cylinders through it. One of .327 Fed reduced recoil 115gr. and three of .32 H&R mag handloads. They felt the same to me but I could tell the .327's were getting to the target faster. I was in a Green Bay, WI yesterday and the buyer asked if I could find some ammo since none was available locally so I picked him up a box. With tax it was $31.64 for 20 rounds! of Speer Gold Dots. I think I could find some old surplus 50 BMG cheaper than that? The gun was very heafty which I didn't expect. The same guy has a Ruger .32 H&R bisley that is much lighter. This one is an 8 shot though. My impression was that it was very pleasant to shoot and could handle a bunch more recoil without becoming uncomfortable. It recoiled less than a light weight .38spcl. I think I read NH had just bought one of these too and I wonder how he likes his? I have a .44 mag Vaquero and I know this .32 weighs just as much. We were just informally plinking at a 1/2 gallon jug at 25 yards and missed it just a few times. We poked a few at my 130 yd target and were right there. I found that pretty impressive. He asked me about scoping it but I tried to talk him out of it. Legal for deer but not for me...

I believe the last American Rifleman had an article on the new Ruger handguns for the .327 Mag. They make the SS BLKHawk, GP100 and the SP101 in that chambering. The big guns have the 8rd cylinder which is a big switch for Ruger but then why waste all the extra room in the cylinder for that small cartridge. They made the .32H&R Mag on the Single Six frame but evidently felt the .327Mag deserved a larger/stronger frame. The SS Vaquaro feels heavy cuz I'd guess it is same size as the .357Mag version but a lot less metal removed from the bore and cylinder. Here's the skinny if I didn't make it clear. $1.58 per shot for a .32 pistol round. Now if it could go around corners and came with free lessons from Angelena Jolie on how to do it I'd buy them by the case. Until then you're better off with a .38
