Hi Guys!
I am at a major cross road in my life and I have been praying about it a lot. I have an answer, but I cannot say with certainty that it is the answer that God wants me to do, or if I am trying to take off on my own path again. I feel deep down that if it is God's plan for my life that He will let me know, in a very significant way. Not that I need proof from God because of disbelief in Him, but because I want to make sure that I am giving control of my life to Him and not taking it for myself.
This cross road will affect the rest of my life and my daughter's life. I want it to be the right thing to do. So, please pray for Hallie and me that her Mama follows God's will because I know His will, no matter what the answer is now, will be what is best for both of us.
If you need more details, you can pm me.
Thanks, guys!

i'm afraid i'm not much help; all i can say is that i have faith that things do happen for a reason and we don't always find out what that reason is.
i don't think that we are moved around like chess pieces on a board, but i do believe that the events of our lives lead up to crossrossroads or choices that we must make, and these choices are often opportunities to do something for ourselves.....or for others.
it's easy to take the path for ourselves and it often seems to be the right decision in the short-term; but, taking the hard road might be the better long-term choice even though it has a lot of short-term complications, and it could be the leap of faith that eventually helps someone else in ways we never thought about.

this must be an example of Someone working in mysterious ways; after i posted that this morning, i got to work and opened up my sportsman's daily devotional - today's verse said what i was trying to say, but said it much better than i could:
Philippians 2:1-4
If you have any encouragement from being united with Christ, if any comfort from his love, if any fellowship with the Spirit, if any tenderness and compassion, then make my joy complete by being like-minded, having the same love, being one in spirit and purpose. Do nothing out of selfish ambition or vain conceit, but in humility consider others better than yourselves. Each of you should look not only to your own interests, but also to the interests of others. |

I understand you needing proof. I understand your doubt.
God does not want you to give control of your life to Him; He gave you
life so you could make the best of it with His guidance. it is an
ongoing lesson. There is no pass/fail.
If you have an answer, then you have an answer and you know it, feel it
and there is nothing that can change it inside you. That then is THE
answer.
If you have an answer, and that answer waivers, and that answer changes
dependent on your situation or moods, that IS NOT God's Answer. It is
what you want the answer to be.
Take time to be quiet. Rest. Be alone. Immerse yourself in yourself in
that quiet and ask yourself those difficult questions again.
You will have the right answer and you will know what should be done.
God's plan is for events to happen for the best, for our
self-development. Happening for 'the best' today can mean a catastrophe
in the short term, but a boon, a great thing in the long term. Believe
me, I have lived that those experiences have nothing to do with my
military service (in case you wondered due to my posts). My link with
God occurred long after that and because of my experience with Him I
dare write you.
I say dare, because you are going through a rough time and have no need
nor patience with dabblers or those who do not deeply understand. I
think I do and at the risk of offending you I write these words.
Sometimes His way of letting you know in a "very signifanct way" is not
what we expect, nor deem significant. Only in retrospect can we see the
importance of some of God's words and then it is a blinding stroke.
Sometimes too late.
So. Keep the inner quietness in you. Take the time to look inward. He will let you know.
You will know this, you will feel this.
Notice the words I wrote...'He will let you know'.
He won't "Tell You".

Thanks guys! You both gave me very, very sound words of wisdom. Everything you said makes perfect sense.
Rivet, I do need the alone time. It is something I just don't get because when Hallie is in school (two hours, three days a week), I am on the run trying to get other stuff done.
"If you have an answer, then you have an answer and you know it, feel it and there is nothing that can change it inside you. That then is THE answer.
If you have an answer, and that answer waivers, and that answer changes dependent on your situation or moods, that IS NOT God's Answer. It is what you want the answer to be."
thank you for reminding me of this. The answer does keep changing. But it is changing less and less....
