Hello all, heard a lot about this site and decided to join. I live in Missouri and my passion is cooking- especially smoking and barbecuing. Heard about you all through a food site I belong to.

Rivet;

Welcome to the site, we're glad you're in.  Not too many members around from Missouri, so please fill us in on what it's like for hunting & fishing around there.  Although I do have to admit that I spent some truly "memorable" time in the state at Fort Lost In Da Woods some years back, 1965 I think it was.  I presume the whole state's not full of nasty little men who constantly yell at you.

Welcome Rivet.

more into hunting/shooting/trapping than cooking.  But I do smoke stuff I find...so far this year I've smoked some wild boar hams,  about 30 pheasant breasts, and one wild turkey.  My wife is not a smoked meats fan, but like pulled pork BQ sandwichs.

Hope you stick around, we need more south central guys.  Lost a friend Lenard in them woods that CB referred to.  Spent some time in the '60s in Rolla and the Mermac Springs area.  Nice people, and lots of clear liquids that tasted great in a Mason jar.

Hey thanks all,

I don't have any taste for that clear liquid in mason jars, but I do enjoy the cold frosty ones, Bear.

And CBF900..not run into any little nasty yelling men, though If I did, I'd tell em a thing or two! I'm a civilian now!

Appreciate the welcomes, and look forward to exploring more of your site.
