Evening fellas  >>  For a long time now, I've been thinking about starting a "big bore" cartridge collection.  I know that lots here have seen those video clips over on AccurateReloading.com of those folks shooting the large stuff.  I've known about the .577 for a while now, but seeing it actually shot truely impressed me.  I have lots of cartridges in mind I will be getting, but it was settled.  I wanted to make the first entry into my little collection a .577 Tyrannosaur.  Took a little looking but     ...     it arrived yesterday.  MY GAWWWWWD !!!  That's a couple of my .416 RemMag cartridges (unfireformed) flanking the .577.  Just for reference, we're talking a 730 gr. flat nose solid going 150 - 175 fps faster then the 400's currently in my RemMag.  And about 150 ft. #'s recoil in a 10 # gun with a quality muzzle brake.  I guess 10,000+ #'s energy should get the job done, no?  ;o)

I've got 470 Nitro Express, 500 N.E. and 700 N.E. cartridges on the way.  On the warpath after the others I want.  Wish I'd have started this sooner.  Kinda fun.  Later.  >>  klallen

That thing will drop any animal in the world. It could probably take out a whale with one shot.

so, what are you gonna use for large/dangerous game, klallen? bein's as you got your antelope gun taken care of...

i saw those videos, too...hilarious. i am on the lookout for a couple of bigger guns, but i'll leave the 577 t-rex to those who really want one... i'll stop at around 416... maybe 460...in fact, got a line on a 375 h&h...

Hunting is not a matter of life or death; it is much more important than that.
