rb, 5 thou is a LOT for changing the 'as-dropped' size from a mold.

A couple things to try are to use a higher antimony content in your melt and to cast a bit cooler. I doubt you'll get more than a .001" reduction, though.

All is not lost, though. The Lee push-through sizers will squish those little buggers to about any size you want. Main thing to watch for is that the lube grooves/surfaces will still retain adequate lube. This is easier with large diameter boolits than small.

Hope this helped,

Grumble,.... Thanks, but this is a roundball mold,.... I still ain't figgered out "why" lee doesn't offer a .570!!

I've tryed cast'n roundball out of WW,.... and, they'er still too tight. I really hate to go to a thinner patch material either, 'cause'a the deep-rifle'ns in the Green Mountain barrel.

rollingB: I've got Lee .562 double cavity mould you could deal me out of pretty easy. (Like for postage). I don't have a 58 anymore. Let me know...307-436-2550    307-259-7314-------Bronco
