Went to the dallas gun show looking for primers and powder, I had intended on getting the CCI br4 primers, but after seeing the price difference compared to the Remington primers, yup you guessed it I bought the Remington, holy cow why is the CCI almost double the cost of the Remington? I bought the Remington 71/2 for 18.00 and the CCI was going for 34.00, can't figure out why the huge cost difference. anybody want to explain this to me?

oh both boxes of 1000 primers!

I go with Winchesters most of the time. That is what the local guy has. I think they charge...ummm 2.50/100 or something like that. Haven't bought any in a while.

Fella's;

Around here the CCI standard primers go for around your $18.00/1000, with the magnums being a buck or so higher.  I'd expect to pay some more for the BR primers, but not that much.  Crazy, what were the standard CCI500 lg rifles going for per 1000?

cb- up until last time i got primers (2 weeks ago), i didn't pay much attention to primer prices because they were all pretty equal. so, i went in to get more primers (i needed 1000 small pistol and 1000 large rifle), and they were all around $19/1000 except the br-series. those were $30.99, and we get the luxury of paying sales tax in s.d...

cb I was only interested in the small rifle primers and just didn't note the price on the others, I guess I was shocked by the huge price difference! I bought what I had came for, just wondering why the cci were so high!

Standard primers go for about $14/1000 here at gunhsows. Bench rest primers aren't going to give you anything extremely more  for hunting loads.

Buy a concentricity gage and check your  rounds for starightness will yield better results
