Sorry to hear that, I don't have debit cards for that reason. On a debit card, bank should waive the service charges, my bank did when mine was used fifteen years ago, you will have to wait up to three months for them to put money back in. I only use credit cards now, if someone gets a hold of it, you just report it and dispute charges, they seem to move faster when it's their money, not yours.
