nathan finaly scored !!!!!!!

 well nathan got his first deer !!!! and it wasnt pretty....  he went up north with matt and my buddy cause i was helping at the sight in days at the club....  they took nathan in and found him a good spot. got it all brushed out and ready for the next morning... well, he says there was somebody near where he was going to set up so he went for a walk.. something i told him not to do up there... anyway he got into some pole pines and used a climber he just got and went up about 20 ft... he said he was sitting for about 20 min. and here comes 4 deer. they were all on a run, but 1 went right under his stand...  he was useing his stick bow and wooden arrows.... shot the beast in the neck.. it went abot 15 yards and starting to break dance in the leaves... he got down and started to yell for matt. they went in and gutted it out and got it out to the road...

  it went about 80 lbs.  that is the first deer my buddy and i ever seen shot with a wooden arrow after all these years of hunting .... now matt and i and my buddy stayed while nathan and his buddy came home and we havent seen a thing... think maybe the wooden arrow might have brought some bad ju ju on us....

Congratulations to Nat.  Been about 30 years since I got a deer with a wooden shaft arow that I made.  Sort of like the pleasure of shooting a deer with a cartridge handload only better.

What heads was he using?  I really hope it was a knapped flint than he made?
