My new house is small (1/4 acre) and in a dense neighborhood.

But, I have my local deer herd, right now there are just 4 does, one senior and 3 yearlings.  But they visit me daily.

As I type, they are sleeping on the edge of my lawn.  Looks like 2 of the yearlings are pregnant.  So, it will be an interesting May?

Have 8 in my yard daily. Most are doe but I am pretty sure the one is the two tear old buck that made it through the season and partnered up with them...no horns and doesn't seem as friendly. 2 of the doe wil let me within 50 feet of them without moving away. They are the same two curios ones that peek in my windows while I work in the addition.
...oh yeah! thats gonna hurt!

If you look very closely, binocs, you usually can see slight bumps on the does head, pedicals.  When a buck drops (Jan-April here) he has blood circles where antler swere.  they turn gray and skin grows over, but the bumps are still visible for a few weeks. Then fairly soon (April) he sarts to grow again, small bumps or just a flat spot is visible.
