Day 2 I didn't do worth a crap, but the opener was pretty good.  I think it is the first time since I started hunting ducks that I did not fill opening day, but I was being pretty selective and had a great time with my hunting buddy.  He was sick of me putting birds on the back burner so far this year.

excellent, craig! congrats to you and your "hunting
buddy...."

keep an eye out for the Chinook Paper. i am slowly
but surely paving the way for an outdoorsmen's page
that will showcase hunting, fishing and shooting.
tips, local pix, recipes etc. will be put here as well as
other "stuff...."

if you have anything from work or your own hunting/
fishing that you ever want to send in to be printed,
just let me know. my email for the paper is
bcj_fischer@yahoo.com.

Best of luck.

holy buckets! don't know what you're using for loads, but it must be good! knocked the feathers right off that goose!

good lookin' dog you got. my pup from last year (hemi hercules) is ready, i hope... his momma (hemi hera) really turned out, and it looks like herk's poised to be twice the hunter that either of his parents are. can't wait to turn him loose. herk is a yellow lab, momma and daddy are black labs.

good day of waterfowling for you...dog looks dry, so you must do a pretty good job of getting 'em to thump on dry land. dog probably doesn't care now, but will thank you for your talents in the upcoming weeks!

Hunting is not a matter of life or death; it is much more important than that.

i do have an antelope tag, and have every intention of
going out. i am afraid that i will be hoping for a quick
"first-10--minutes-of-the-season" hunt, because i
am going to be VERY busy at work for a while until
they find a replacement for the other reporter, who
just quit this week. with luck, it will be a nice buck at
least 14 inches. anything more than that will be
gravy!

Everything landed in the water, but it is not what I would call real deep.

As for the goose, I think he was molting.

well, anybody who has chased geese knows exactly what you are saying.

one of the fine pleasures in life that only a conniseur can appreciate is watching a bird dog do his thing.
