NL, I'm assuming you need a password to get into the page you linked
that picture to? Not viewable on this end, access forbidden. Find out
if they have a way to link via a public page versus your private one.
Make sense?

Sir North;
Pictures are not up to your usual quality. In fact, they look a lot like the ones I don't post, ie, invisible.
I'm thinking that if you don't take some pictures of my 1911's, they won't post with yours. Or did you already give that a try?

I did a bit of shooting today with my Sistema Argentine, and my Combat Commander. Range was 25 yards, shooting Red Dot, and the BD custom .45 design bullet. Both stayed in about 1 1/4", to 1 1/2" with thier favorite loads. Unfortunately, they like different loads, so it is not a one size fits all with this particular powder. I still need to try them out with Unique, Blue Dot, and 231, and see how they like those. I can certainly live with the accuracy, but for social purposes, I wouldn't mind a bit more velocity. You won't see me say that very often!

Waksupi;
Try a little 700X. I like Blue Dot a lot, but have never had it work as well in the .45 ACP as the faster powders. 700X is also a pretty clean burner.

My pet .45ACP load is 5.2 gr Red Dot behind a 200 gr lead SWC. Also like 4.9 gr Bullseye. Have used other powders... 700X, Unique... even Herko...
Anyway, this not being able to post pics is . I had tried to link to SonyImagestation where I had uploaded some pics figuring if we can't post direct then we might be able to post 'hosted' pics. Sometimes it works, sometimes not...
Anyway, I had a nice pic of all my 1911's in a group... guess we'll have to wait and see what Tex can fix up for us in due time.
Regards, Marcus.

What??? Blasphemy!!!
I admit when I first became interested in guns then later started to acquire a few, especially handguns, I thought the 1911 was butt ugly! But I went ahead and got one anyway after awhile... a WWII vintage Ithaca mfg USGI .45ACP. It was all grey-green parkerized with brown plastic grips. Once I got it degreased and cleaned up I took it out and fired my first mag full of hardball. And the rest is history... later followed by a mint Colt Combat Commander Series 70 .45 in brush nickel finish [looked stainless]. And there's been many since from Gold Cups on down to "parts guns". I've even had a Delta Elite 10mm and Colt Government 1911 in 9mm. Loved 'em all!
Trouble is when I see a nice 1911 for sale, especially a Colt... well, you know the rest of the story...

Regards, Marcus.

one was a springfield GI with national match parts and I like it
too. My next one will be a springfield in 38 super GI parkerized

I'm a 1911 fan, have shot many, but never owned one. I hope to change that one day. I'm gonna try and post some pics here of a Colt 1911A1 that my friends dad carried with him in WWII. Before he left the states he had photos of him and his wife put in the grips. I think that's a neat way to have a reminder of your loved ones back home. The pistol is in almost new condition, seeing as how the owner was a P-38 pilot and it stayed in the holster for most of the war. It is shot about once a year, and it's probably the nicest I'll ever shoot.

I sure like NL's collection!
