...     maybe  .?.?.?.?.?

At least for now, anyway.  Picked it up earlier this afternoon :

This one's been a bit harder to find then the other two AutoMag's but we finally got one in and I'm thrilled.  Not bad shape.  Certainly used, but not abusively so.

Almost a spitting image of my AutoMag IV & V but there are 2 subtle differences I noticed.  Barrel cut around the chamber area is rounded as is my Javalina 10mm, rather then the cut square of the IV & V.  And the slide is much slimmer in size, again, looking more like the slide on my Javalina, then those beefed up for the IV & V models.

The handgun delivered with four 50-count boxes of virgin, Winchester brass.  Don't think this stuff's been produced for a while now.  It's sure a long case for a 9mm cartridge :

Some .4" longer then the Luger.  Data's been hard as hell to come by, too.  Read that, nonexistent.  Gonna work with the 147 gr. Gold Dot and Blue Dot powder for starters.  Was up at 50's kinda spit-balling starting loads.  Gleening info from MAX .38 Super loads and older 9mm Mauser data we should have at least a partially educated starting point.  Will get to that     ...     someday.

Don't matter when I get to it.  Goal accomplished     ...     the trifecta is completed.  >>  korey

Auto-Mags, isn't the AMT variety around the fourth generation? Not real sure, all I know is, the sorriest I ever was, was in 1975 when I saw a Lee Juras AutoMag .44 automag, with the .357 Automag conversion kit advertised in the local paper. Having just been married, it was off the scale for me at $675 for the whole kit including dies for both calibers. Even today, I get sick when I see what those are bringing today pricewise with the attachment kit. As I have always said, "Marriage is the death of hope."..........Kingpin

Not sure of all the past manufacturers that carried the AutoMag monikor.  IAI did them before AMT.  Latest versions now made by High Standard outa TX.  Don't know anything about their quality.  Would like to compare them with the older stuff from the early 90's.  See they've dropped the AutoMag V .50 AE.  Latest offerings are sure a lot different then the 30 year old original.  Yup, $675'd be a steal for the price-tag an m180 or m280 automag .44 amp is commanding now-a-days.  Would be a neat round to work with but I don't see me personally shelling out that kinda $$$ for the opportunity.  Ouch !!!  >>  klallen

Korey - Cool pistol collection. How about a family photo of all your new acquisitions...

The only AMT's I ever see up here are the occasional one in .45ACP and sometimes one with the 'long slide'...

Regards, Marcus.

Thanks, Marcus.  Here's the group :

(t - b ) IAI Javalina - 10mm Auto, AMT AutoMag III - 9mm Win Mag, IAI AutoMag IV - .45 Win Mag, AMT AutoMag V - .50 Action Express

Speaking of the ACP, there's a longslide Hardballer for sell on a GunBroker auction right now and another auction offering a drop-in 7" barrel for that gun chambered in the .400 CorBon.  Told the wife earlier I was done with the handgun purchases for a while (to make here happy), but I'll be darned if these two opportunities haven't gone and dug themselves in real deep with me.  Yet to add a Hardballer to the group but I just don't think I'm going to be getting the go sign from the wife for that purchase.  We'll see though.

Hope all's going well in balmy BC !!!  Take care.  >>  korey
