Not sure if I told you guys this or not, but a few months ago I spotted a Kimber Compact CDPII sitting in the case of a gunshop. Well, I ended up helping the guy for the weekend at a gunshow, and couldn't keep my paws off the thing, so I had him put it out back. I ended up trading a 10/22, my Marlin 336 in .35 Rem (just didn't balance right for me), and my Puma model 92 16" .45 LC for the thing. Of course my Dad had to sign the paperwork, and give it to me as a gift, but man, this thing is slick. I picked up a couple Wilson Combat magazines to go with it as well. I snagged an IWB holster from Kimber, as finding a holster for a 4" 1911 instead of a 4.25" is kind of a tough proposition. Well, anyways, here is a link to the pistola on Kimber's website: http://www.kimberamerica.com/pistols/cdp/compact_cdp_II/

Boy she is a beauty too. Whewey!

nh - good call on getting that gun. they are nice little pieces! now... get after a 5" 1911 to go w/ the 3" you'll end up w/ and you'll have a pretty good 1911 battery... careful, though: 1911's are addictive and expensive. sure are nice, though!

Heck NH, I just sold one of those.  Not bad carry guns, but I don't think they're heavy shooters.  Also, don't use a mag with a metal follower.  It will eat up your feed ramp.  Also, change the recoil spring immediately, and every 800 rounds.  Compacts need good heavy springs, particularly with full power loads.  Wolff makes a better spring for this gun, #32725.  It works better than your conventional 22# spring.  My CDPII liked Golden Sabers but not Hornady XTPs.  Enjoy your new gun.
