Fella's;

Now wait just a minute here!  If we're going to get over on the subject of lightweight, handy, and above all accurate, .22 rifles at moderate cost, let us not ignore the CZ Scout.

I have to go along with 900f on this one. I like the CZ better than the Cricket and they are about the same price.

 Well if we're veering of into liteweight handy little rifles , theres the tiny little Browning Auto, and the old standby Stevens favorite.
The most expensive bullet there is isn't worth a plug nickel if it don't go where its supposed to.

Ranch, I love that little browning auto (loads thru the butt stock).  But autos are not legal, here.

I already have a Favorite unfortunately it is a heavy barreled half octagon original, about 100 years old.

 Take a gander at the new "favorite" they're pretty slim.

 Another alternative might be a youth model handi rifle in 22.

Bear;

Any chance of finding a Smith J-frame .22 or .22 magnum at a decent price?

I'd love to find an old "kit Gun" with a 3 inch barrel.  they were great and they sold for about $61 when I bought my K-22 model 17.  I should have bough both of those guns instead of just one.  But I didn't know what I know now; and the  $67  I paid for my model 17 (6 inch) was a lot more money than I had.

I'm looking.

Some of those Charger arms early guns were 3 inches with adjustable sights.

Beaver trapping stops at 12 noon on Tues.  My last day out on the trap line, and i need to pull those heavy chained #4 traps with rebar stakes.  BUT this dispatch gun thing is working on me.  I'm thinking of carrying my 1861 Colt cap/ball gun in the CSA closed flap holster.  Seems fitting.  And then at 1pm I will need to fire the charcoal-burner  (then at 5 pm I'd need to disassemble and clean it).LOL
