Sounds like me (only you are in better shape) three weeks ago I was up 16 foot in a tree with a chainsaw cutting a new tree stand...I actually saw a vision of my obit "Old fart dies in fall from tree after cutting off his leg". It was raining also. But more serious, do it get the bow and go. I think of it this way, in 5 years I'll be saying "Wish I was 51 or 56 or 61 or any age younger than I am. Boy did I have strength and health then...should have done more back then" Well, for you and I Rick This is way back then. Do it, now. While you still have some lead in your pencil. I just fot more traps in the mail today, new thing to do for me. Tomaorrow at 6 am I'll be in my tree stand in the rain, last day of extended archery season. Since diatetes took my dominate eye, and messed up my other one....I'm hunting with a crossbow....but I'll be there. I gave my Matthews bow away, can't shoot right handed (tough enough for me to do it left handed now). I loved that Matthews, guy I gave it to shot a deer three days later with it. My motto is do it now.... I'll (we'll) be gumming our Cream of Wheat soon enough and I ain't looking back from the home. BEAR |

If it's the Drenalin, I fondled one last week. nice bow, but a little high priced for me. For $750, I can buy a new rifle.

Guess my archery equipment buying days are past. Still got a Browning from 1967 that won me some decent dollars back then. But when did archery gear get so high priced? $750, 400 these seem outrageous when you figure out the manufacturing process and cost! I also understand from my bow hunting friends that this new stuff usually is sold for 20% in 5 years as the hunters want to have the latest 'stuff'. Maybe my retirement should be getting into archery manufacturing. BEAR |

I had a PSE bow, compound dual cam. Killed some deer with it. Bought it new (about $170) gave it to my son he killed a few deer and groundhogs with it. He still uses it. I guess we got our money out of it (about $15 per deer). Still shoots good, and the deer doesn't know the brand or model when the arrow slides thru. Archers must also be golfers, improve your game by buying better ($$$$) equipment? BEAR |

I have a 5 year oldbow that cost me about $470 fully rigged out an with arrows. I can't even touch a bare bow much for that price. In the last 5 years, prices have skyrocketed. I noticed the biggest price jump from about 2004-05. I think my $69 restring will have to do me for the next 2-3 years.
