Do you guys find prices on Gunbroker to be about what you should find at a gun shop? I think Guns America is a little high. Usually gun broker is lower. Just wondering. I found a model 27 Smith and Wesson at a local shop for $450. It dosn't have the original grips. I would say finish was in about 90% condition. Locks up tight etc. It would be a good shooter, but not a collector. I would have to find some factory grips, cause the Pacmayer's dont do anything for me. Sound like a good price? It is lower than the ones I have seen on Gun broker.

Wing; For a good model 27, yes I'd buy it myself at that price. Does it have the cross-checkered rear sight base, or the standard fore-to-aft grooves? If it's checkered, pinned & recessed, BUY IT. 900F |

Its a 27-2. So, I assume it is pinned and recessed because the 27-3 was the model change that deleted the pin and recess... I think. I am planning on going to take one more look tomorrow. I will see if its checkered. I will either buy it or pass tomorrow. Thanks 900f

Guns America isn't an auction site. You can make a lower offer.

I usually look at what I call the top three and get a fair idea of what stuff is going for. AuctionArms ten years ago was the best but now Gunbroker has surpassed it. GunsAmerica has never been a favorite of mine due to it's "search" not working well and it's sellers not monitoring things very closely because no end date is in sight. As a FFL I find new guns on Gunbroker for sale $10 over my wholesale price. I have to charge 6.5% sales tax which will almost always be more than that $10. I just refer my customers to the internet and charge $20 for a transfer fee.

What DD said. I find alot of really cool stuff on GB,the problem I have on GA is you get alot of non FFL holders on there, that don't understand the process of shipping a firearm,I lost out on a really nice Tikka Hunter on there because the guy just flat didn't understand the law.

I've sold and bought several guns off Gunbroker. I won't deal with GA anymore. There are too many scammers on there, and GA doesn't consider confidentiality to be necessary. Gunbroker prices can be real good, but you have to balance the shipping cost with paying state sales tax at a gun store. Also, my state is now asking on its tax forms whether you bought online during the year. They want the sales tax! Of course, I have not bought anything online for years and years. I found a new Browning BPS HC shotgun on GB for $280, and its at least $440 in the shops. By the same token, I sold a gun for hundreds more on GB than a local dealer could have gotten for it.
