right on Maple. My son has had a lot of combat training. When he was a teen, I gave him a M39 (9mm) and a Smith M57 (4!MAG). 1st combat course he attended he took his M39 as his carry. they feed him glocks and unlimited ammo for a week. He now loves his Clocks and has stacks of them. He still lke the M39 an M57...but his heart is in Glockville.
I'm just not a plastic guy. If god had wanted guns to be made of plastic he would not have made WALNUT and blued steel.

Bear, I truly love revolvers more than my Glocks. I have a couple Rugers and my Dad has a few S&W revolvers. I never liked the feel of the SA revolvers in my hand. To be perfectly honest, there really is very little difference in most of the composite semis. There are those that will argue this one is better than that one in the same price range. The cheap ones, <$600 are the same, those from $600-$700 are the same and the high end ones >$700 i.e. H&K, Sig etc. The biggest difference is striker fired or hammer. Hard to "fall in love" with them, but they do serve a purpose.

yep, I hate striker fired plastic, BUT must admit my current CCW is exactly that. Diamondback striker fires plastic 380. got it because of micro size and 8 ounce weight, fits in my small cell phone case. In striker fired guns, if yu have a FTF you must recycle everythin.
with the PP, M39, P38 you have the option to just pull the trigger again. |

Colt woodsman. For the literary echoes, since I can't hit squat with a handgun.

Colt Woodsman--far and away. I don't shoot people (anymore) and none of the other handguns can approach it for small game carry. Probably because it was designed by theall-time master of sporting arms design, John Moses Browning.

favorite semi-auto...........tuff question.........don't know but for rimfire handgun I seem to gravitate to a Ruger MK type .22 pistol for most plinking work. Mostly a revolver fan for handguns.
For precise target shooting like for Bullseye game I like my High Standard Citation. One of the best ever of target guns in various models. Edited by Irish Bird Dog - 24 September 2020 at 11:12 |
