Found some flint the other day in a field, don't really know if it's actually flint but it throws sparks real good when hit with a striker and it's hard as hell.  bit brittle though, and cracks sharp lines when struck.

Odd thing though is thet it's grey like english flint, or at least what they call english.  Cuts steel real good so I'm half convinced it's really flint.  Time to get out a mineral and rock book to see how you test flint.  I thought all american flint was redish lookin.
