Pros/cons, highs/lows, are either a decent semi? A local has a Sigma
9mm and a P97D 45ACP both for $299. No hi cap mags in either, but they
can be had. I'm not looking for self protection here, I doubt it would
ever get used for it and don't plan on it either, but if it did I'd be
happy to have a .22.....
Functionality, quality, accuracy, finish..........??? |

BKC; I've owned the P90, which is the alloy framed original version .45 by Ruger. I haven't & won't own a Sigma. Don't take my word for it, go to a site like www.thehighroad.org, which has about 10 or 15 thousand members & I'll bet dollars to dead rats the ratio will be about 10 to 1 against on the Sigma's. On the other hand, I never had a problem with the Ruger, with a single exception. That being that one of my children decided that it must be theirs. Oh well. 900F |

Sigmas don't have a very positive reputation...I don't think I have
ever seen anything good written about them by someone that actually
owned one, vs a professional writer.

Having been a Glock 9mm & .40 S&W cal I originally had one of the first Ruger P90 .45ACP's to come into Canada when they were first introduced. Probably having been a life long 1911 fan soured me fast on the P90. Traded it off very soon after getting it. Just too 'clubby' for me... I gotta admit I am interested in the new Ruger P345 pistol, though...
The only Ruger I'm really contemplating at the moment is a 22/45 pistol. You just gotta love that 1911 grip angle and having a 'plinker' in .22 long rifle...
Regards, Marcus.

I don't have shooting experience with either pistol. But when the Sigma first came out I took a close look at some. I didn't care for them at all. I'd go with the Ruger. |
