I took this recently aquired 1911 to the range today and the front sight bounced off into the mud. No chance of finding it. Guess it wasn't staked good. Anyhow, what is a good, but not top of the line ( Read $$$$) adjustable sight I can put on it without any machining. I would want three dot system that comes with both front and rear sight. Second choice would be a white outline on rear and a white or orange color on the back of the front. Or reccomend somethimg. This is for target shooting only. I don't ever plan to caryy it. I have too many good revolvers for that in.357 and 44 mag Also it wouldn't feed any jacketed 185 gr SWC. But did well with standard 230 gr RN ball. A lot of time s it would, feed the SWC, but wouldn't go all the way in to battery. Can any polishing , etc be done to make it feed the SWC as well as the RN. |

I just had a set of these put on my colt 1991. You only have to send in the slide so no FFL is involved. They are in Las Vegas and turn around was quick. Makes it a good night defence weapon. |

SS, sorry for the long time to get back to you. I make sights for 1911's, fixed ones that is, but I also like to incorporate my front sight, (which I silver solder in place) with a Bomar adjustable. I don't care much for staked sights or the dovetail frint sights. All my front sights are silver soldered, After all I too had a bad experience with a staked sight. The dove tailed front sights aren't much better than the staked ones, with the exception that, if they are installed favoring one side, there's not much you can do if you don't have a rear adjustable, after all, when they are installed, they are pinned in place. I can also make all the adjustments that you need for the ammo that you want to use................Kingpin
