When i had problems with my outboard i didn't get out in the boat for over 2 years. I still have a full tank of unused gas. Is it still usable? I know some will tell me to get rid of it which is the most sensible thing to do but i wouldn't mind using it up if it wont create any harm to the motor.

Does it have stabile in it?  Did it have methanol in it?

If it had methanol, I wouldn't trust it.

If it had stabile in it, it should be ok.

If it was regular gas, I would smell it, if it smells like varnish, it's gone bad, if it's has no off smell, I'd add some heet to it and try it.

Is it in built in tank? if not you may use it up in your lawn mower, premix 2 cycle gas will cause mower to smoke, while burning premix, and may foul plug, but will work otherwise.  That's what I do with left over chain saw and outboard gas myself.

like RobertMT said.

It will be ok, I would dump some Heet in it because of condensation, and maybe some octane booster if the motor starts.

Honestly? I had nothing in it. Just gas and oil mix. Filled it up one day, buggered up my motor and it just sat ever since. No Robert it's not built in. It's a separate gas tank from the motor with the hose and bulb.

Simple.  Drain it.  Run it in your car/truck with a 10+ gallon of fresh.

Use only fresh in your outboard.

I have a number of boats, wife says toooo many; I have 20 gallons of E-10 left from last year in my biggest boat  (23').  I'm filling it with 70+ gallons of fresh and running it.

No stabilizer will work on E-10  regardless of what they advertise.  Dilute it and run it in V-8 4 cycle engines and it will give you some "value".

BEAR

PS  E-10 sucks BIG time.  Thanks B.O.

Ok Bear. I think i'll just save it for fire starter on a rainy day in deer camp. Did you get a chance to look at the pic i posted about my seat bracket? Just wondered what your thoughts were on it.
