Well guys, I settled my P97 vs Sigma debate......Neither! I opted for 9mm and wanted the longer barrel, this is what followed me home yesterday.

Not much time with it yet, rear site was quite a bit off center so I drifted it over, seems to be centered on target now. Off hand rapid fire gave me about a 4 inch group at 15 yards, but I suck and that's cheap Blazer ammo.

Only complaint is the trigger, I can handle heavy, but can you say creep! Any one have any tips on helping with these or am I stuck?

Stupid people are like a slinky, they don't serve much purpose in the world but they sure are fun to watch tumble down the stairs!

BKC;

Ah!  The infamous Ruger Trigger Syndrome complaint!  Or, RTS, for short.  Things can be done with the trigger.  The problem is, by the time you invest the money to get those things done:  A. The trigger won't be THAT much better, and B.  The money coulda financed a gun with a better trigger.

On the upside though, you have a nearly indestructable pistol.  As a dead-reliable knock-around gun, they can't be beat.  The P series are THE pick-up, boat, and rough use semi's in the market today.

I've had two. I bought my first (P-85) when they came out back in the 80's. It was one of the first affordable double action double stack mag guns available.  I bought my second from a guy that spent a bunch of money on it, trigger port, etc. It's not as reliable feeding as my 226 Sig but I hit better with it. I have a PC9 carbine that the mags interchange with and I like that feature. It took me awhile to figure out how to take that P-89 apart but once you learn how it's no big deal. It should do 4" pretty easy if not better at 25 yds with hand loads. Mine doesn't like the cheap Winchester white box ammo that's $9 at Wal Mart, I wish it did.

DD

Endeavor to persevere.
