Just held the new Rem model 673, 350 Mag - and the darn thing feels real nice, not to heavy not to light.  Nice stock, and checkerin even's got a raised check piece.  Also got to play with a new Browning BLR (358 win), felt OK, but the straight stock seamed a bit odd.

All in all if I had the money right now I'd go with that funky lookin 350 Mag.

The .350 has caught my eye too. It will be my next project. I have the wood now, waiting for a action, at least waiting till it's safe to get one. A .358 STA also looks interesting, but is probably a long ways off if ever.

From the caliber class, give me a .35 Whelen AI and a .358 STA and I'd be a happy little camper.  >>  klallen

I would like to have a 358STW. If I weren't so lazy I would built myself one.

I wouldnt mind a .356 Winnie. Or maybe a .35 Whelan. I am going to stay away from those  calibers that i dont know anything about. Well, i guess that means i could go for a .350 Remmie as long as it comes in a non-Remington, Ruger lefty bolt rifle with a nice little 20" barrel and a Leupie 1-4x20 VX-2 ontop!

NH,

This one might change yer mind, I don't like remington safety's but this one seems a bit stronger with a bit more throw to it.  Any 35 you get into is going to have issues with cartridges unless it's the 35 Rem.  The 350 Mag, and Whellen are ballistically the same (so is case capacity).  What I like best about the 673 is that is pulls up right.  The balance point is just in front of the floor plate, makes fer quick shoulderin, same for the raised cheek piece.  I have one extra gun I might get rid of, if I do I'll get the 350.

Still not changin my mind Spot. I just cant flat out fire a follow up shot at all quickly with right handed bolts because it takes me too long to throw the bolt. The only case is with my dad's '03A3 springy which i can cycle the bolt really fast because the action is just sooo smooth.

NH,

Most folks can't make follow on shots anyway, I don't unless I have to - but I have a few dandies thet the fellers at camp talk about.  To me it's important, but I don't think most folks care that much how a gun fits or pulls up.

The aught six fits well and handles well, i guess i just didnt think of that. It is also lighter than winnies and remmies which makes a difference to me. I dont like having guns that weigh more than 7 1/2 lbs. unloaded and unscoped.

The .35 I'm looking for information on is the .350 Rigby.  Supposed to be a ballistic twin to the .358 Norma Magnum.  Anyone here that can help in this matter?  Lawdog
