Yes it really is considered a pistol 12 inch barrel in 45 Colt.
I wanted this gun since I was 6 ![]() Rossi Ranch Hand. Like all Rossi 92 platforms it shot high really high so I had to do some rear sight work. Probably after the first of the year will buy a higher fiber optic front sight. Not gonna mess with that now as it will be with me deer hunting this next week. I got it to shoot to POI now so will leave the original front sight for now. Bead is wearing orange finger nail polish so I can see it good. ![]() |

Ever since I watched Wanted Dead or Alive with Steve McQueen as Josh Randall I wanted one of these but knew I probably would not have one considering no one made them for years and making a SBR would be a costly proposition. I traded my Uberti Cattleman in 45 Colt and a Henry 22 mag to get it. The Cattleman was getting hard to shoot with the fixed sight grooved top strap and the Henry was a gun safe queen I liked it but the price of 22 mag ammo kept me from shooting it much. WI does not have much for small varmint hunting opportunities and now days you can get pretty fast 22 LR to bridge the gap. The Aquilla Super Maximum ammo is 1750 fps. Not sure how it shoots might have to try some. But anyway back to the Ranch Hand I like it.

yeah but now you need to get some of those HUGE cartridges (45-70's maybe?)
like Josh Randal had in his belt for his "mares leg".....aka your Ranch Hand version.

Fella's; I also remember the show, and not in re-runs either. I can also recall my dad & his friends making fun of the cartridges in his belt not being able to fit into the gun. Good on ya JH for gettin' one ya always wanted! Now if somebody knows of a Ruger GP100 stainless, 4" with adjustable sights for private sale, let me know. Would prefer the full underlug barrel, but won't be too picky. 900F |
