I had a Model 31 Remington follow me home from a gun show this weekend. This one is a 16 guage in really good shape. Especially for something they Quit making in 1949.

I have my Grandpa's model 31 in 20 guage and I have always been impressed with the smoothness of the action. This one is just as smooth. I cant wait to get it out and put a few rounds through it.

I usually dont find that good of prices at gun shows but this one was $175.00. I thought this was a fair price.

Wingmaster,

I know the feeling.  Seems a lifetime or two of use on a pump and the action is a slick as can be.  Also gives one confidence to use a gun with a shooting history, even if we don't know that history.

By the way, e-bay usually has the manuals for the older guns.  an $8-10 investment gives a lot of info and something to pass on with the scattergun.  Those old manuals have 10 times the info of todays, attorney/liability/safety manuals.

Congratulations sounds like you got  quality and a good buy.

Wing, don't forget me. I love those 31's too. My biggest regret was one I didn't follow up on from a guy I met in a dove field. It was in 16ga too. Maybe that's why I drug my feet. If I would have had that $180 on me that day, I'd have it here to brag about too. Those are the smoothest pumps I ever saw. The one I missed had a lot of age and some abuse on it, but as I was holding it, a dove with his avionics askew accidentally flew past the barrel and I suppose the sear was bad or something, the gun just went off.....Honest......LOL....................Kingpin
