Guys, I am really sorry to have to convey the fact that we have hit a major snag. My smith, who is a Red Arrow Division Veteran, spent a half hour on the phone detailing our order and requests to Brownells. He had the whole thing done, price, shipping address etc. The sales person clicked the "ship" button on her computer and got the following message. "High capacity magazines cannot be shipped to the state of KALIFORNIA". The APO address has a Kalifornia zip code! Now what? If the Unit detail left at home in Fondulac will ship them, I'll get them shipped there and forwarded. Or get them shipped here and drive them to Fondulac personally. Does anybody know if this would work? Timber? IBD? Would unit commanders frown on unofficial mags?

Let me know ASAP. Bad thing is my smith won't be able to order again until next Thursday. He's only open Th,Fr,Sat. RD

here's a link to a few ideas i got from another forum:

http://forums.accuratereloading.com/eve/forums/a/tpc/f/38110 43/m/1721041801

it seems that the best solution might simply be to have them shipped to one of us, and then we can ship them to the APO from there; another idea would be to ship them directly to where they ar (fort bliss?) and arrange a pick-up there.

Fella's;

It's typical for a unit going on sandbox deployment to stage through an established military base in CONUS.  If that base for this unit is outside la-la land, we should be able to obtain that address & get the mags to them in plenty of time before they depart the country.

Seems, if you use the US mail, and ship to an APO, then California law doesn't apply.  The mag will at all times be in US government hands when delivered to troops on the base.

RD....Just got back home and read your post regarding the shipping of the magazines to the APO..to hell with Kalifornia.......Please have the mags shipped to my home address (will PM address to you now) and I will ship them on to the guys who are now in Kuwait for the next 2 wks.  They arrived there on Monday 27 about mid afternoon our time.  There final deployment will be in IRAQ for the next 10 mths.

As you all know the APO is an Army address for reshipping to the base overseas via military transport or leased commercial transport by the Army......the mags will never touch Kalifornia soil!

I appreciate all of your assistance in this matter and your concerns in getting these mags to the soldiers.  As far as unit commanders go it should be no problem, there are lots of aftermarket AR/M4 items being used by soldiers over there already now and in his previous two tours.

OK. Here is where we are at. We have enough money for the mags plus a little for shipping. I'll cover any shortages. They have been ordered and will arrive at my house shortly. IBD and I will work together to get them shipped. Thanks to all for your patience and support. RD
