Ok,

Say I decide to rent a horse, and arrange for a pack out if I fill a tag.  Couple of things come to mind.

1.  Will they pick up and drop off the horse for me each day at the trail head? - Sounds like a lot of work for the owners.

2.  Whats the average distance your going to be able to cover - i.e. it takes me 30 minutes to walk to my stand, but I get there while it's still dark.  If you leave with a horse, how long does it take you to get back 4 plus miles where you'll start being free of flatlander wanta be's (like me).

3.  Do you guy's carry shelters (tents) with you if you don't have a pack animal with you.  Is this a good way to hunt (no pack critter)?

Time we started talking about real hunting again.

The rental places around here, will rent you a horse for the season. If you fill out early, aan want to leave, you have to contact them to come and get the horse. It is usually only  a one delivery, one pickup deal

If God wanted you to walk and carry things on your back, He would not have invented stirrups and pack saddles

4 miles, a little over an hour. Buy saddle panniers. They fit over a riding saddle and you can haul a half an elk at a whack but you have to walk. You can ride back in, get the second half, and walk back out. You can roll the saddle pannier up and tie it on with your slicker behind the saddle when you ride.
