Hey yall, what do you think about the Thompson Center Scout? It seems pretty good to me, but the only comparison i have is a CVA something or other that cost the guy 100 bucks brand new. I have been shootin T/C Maxi-Hunters in the gun they shoot nice. Open up to .75" after going through a car fender and going about 6-8 inches into the dirt. I read at hodgtons site that you cant shoot pyrodex pellets in the Scout. Do any of you know why?

Don't know how the scout is set up by you can't shoot pyrodox if it isn't a in-line firing system.

The T/C Scout is one of the first inlines to come out. For some reason Hodgeton says i can use regular pyrodex in it, but not pyro pellets.

I had a knight disc for about 5 years, finally quit black powder hunting with it cause I was chasin too much game so one season had to go.  I seem to remember a warning in the pyrodex box about the scout.  Don't know why, could be the breech plug design.

All i know is that i cant use pyro pellets and it is near impossible to find replacement nipples for the scout. Almost all of them say, "Can use in every inline muzzleloader except the T/C Scout." That really pisses me off. I did find a nipple called the T/C Spitfire that would fit it, but i would have to get it from some place i have never dealt with. I would prefer not to pay shipping, but that seems like the only way to get it.
