Hey guys, i was looking at 1903 springfields at http://www.gunbroker.com/auction/ViewItem.asp?Item=9736761 and i found this really nice sporter. It costs 314.95 right now. It really is a beauty.

Just saw this post.  That is a nice looking Springfield.  Does the ad say what the serial number is and the manufacturer (Springfield or Rock Island)?

My $80 1903 sporter. Rifle is a 1903 MKI, reciever rail is cut for
a Pederson Device. Fairly early Weaver scope and mounts, can't read the model
number. Remember back when all the LEOs and insurance companies reccommended
marking valubles? The idiot former owner electro-penciled his social security
number on the receiver ring and scope. Not real deep, will try to remove/restore
someday. He also hunted with the rifle for many years, apparently without a safety
of any kind. Rifle still wore the original safety, completely blocked and unusable
by the scope. I added a low scope safety.
Mrs. Triggerguard will be using the rifle to hunt with this year.
