BCBoy - I am already "on the coast". I live on Vancouver Island just outta Victoria, B.C. My house is only about 3/4" mile away from the ocean. [Nice balmy breeze on those long hot summer days!]

NH - I agree, in principle, with you about Ramline stocks. They are inexpensive [cheap] and do feel "plasticky". I liked the older versions of the Ramlines as they came with a Pachmayr Decelerator pad installed on the butt. To save costs apparently they have gone to a cheaper recoil pad, as I found out when I ordered one for a Remington 700 ADL .30-06 I've got. As for the Ramline on the Rem 788 in 7mm-08, it is one of the older ones with that nice Decelerator pad. The original stock on the 788 is rather plain & clubby. Plus the one I had was fair beat-up. The action just dropped right into the Ramline with no fuss at all. The barrel is floated in the channel just as is. This 788 is a tackdriver as now it's set-up in this Ramline. I am of the mind when something ain't broke, don't mess with it. I can live with this "plasticky" stock if the rifle groups like I want it to!

Regards, Marcus.

Hey North Logan, what did i do? But anywayz, the one on my Win 94 doesnt even have a recoil pad. Just plastic with some ridges on it. It is even worse than the steel buttplate that was on it before!

CB, i doubt that i would get another stock for it. As soon as i can the rifle is going down river in trade for a nice Win 94 Big Bore in .375 Win or maybe .307!

My next gun, i have decided, is going to be a Ruger Blackhawk or Vaquero in .45 LC with a 4 5/8's inch barrel. The shotgun will have to wait. I will still have plenty of time to get the required funds accounted for. Also, i probably wont be seeing a BPS anytime soon. I got too much work to do, and it is kind of a long drive to get there. I might be going to a gunshop tonite, and i will see if they have one.

Hi Dan - Glad to see you back on BSB. [Hey, we gotta do something about that NH kid - you see his post count??] Anyway, if you get a chance could you post a pic of your T-3? I haven't yet seen one. How does it compare to the "Whitetail" series? Why did you decide to get one? How do you like it?

I am just wondering why Tikka brought this one out? Are they going to discontinue the "Whitetail" series?

Thanks in advance....

Regards, Marcus.

I think it is rather cheaply made, Way to much plastic for me, but it shoots and don't cost much.

Those are "anyfires" LOL. Here is the Tikka T3

Hey Dan - Thanks for posting the T-3 pic. Looks like my 695 Master All-Weather stainless synthetic:

Nice "motors" BTW.... the one in front, is that the new limited edition Harley with the Porsche designed engine?

Regards, Marcus.

I too like the 45 colt revolvers, and have a few.

The silver bike is a 100th anniversary Harley Davidson V-Rod.

The Tikka's are similar, the port on the T3 is smaller and the magazine catch is on the bottom in front of the magazine, I think it is a cheaper version of the Tikka line of rifles. So, if you like the older ones you had better get them now.

Dan

Hey Dan

Thanks for posting it,it does look somewhat different. From what I have read the Whitetail Hunters are gonna be discountinued and I guess the other models will stay the same for awhile, the varminters and continentail. So if you was going for another 25-06 (Tikka) you'd look for a Whitetail?

By the way V-Rod very cool.  Mike

The T3 is a well made rifle and it shoots well, I just don't like the Remington 710 plastic or the Tikka T3 plastic. Other than that, I have it and will probably wear it out before it leaves for its new home. You know this rifle is priced rather low for the quality you are getting, hell its well under $500.00.

Hey Dan - Is that one of the "1 of 200" motors?

Here's one that was just out in front of my place:

My V-Rod isn't a one of anything that I know of. It does however have V-Mod exhaust and a programable "Power Commander" brain box and the drive pulley has been replaced with a 28 tooth, stock is 30 teeth. So it might be one of a kind, LOL. Have you ever rode a V-Rod? It rolls right along.

NH - There's lots of stuff that I "don't own" and would still like. Trouble is, I do have a few great rifles, and don't really "need" anything more. But as you go thru life, I guess tastes change, sot there's always something new & interesting to look forward to. If I find a nice, cherry Remington 700 Classic in 7x57mm Mauser, then I guess I'd be one more closer, though.

Regards, Marcus.

Dan - Nice bike for sure! No, I've never rode the V-Rod. The one in the pic above belongs to a friend who also "wrenches" my recently acquired '67 Mustang. He dropped over yesterday afternoon & I snapped a couple of pics of his with the digital. Anyway, his is a limited edition and is #27 out of 200. There's a factory marker on the right side of the gas tank to that effect. Anyway, he tells me that the V-Rods have lots of "juice". Funny, he won't let me take it for a spin, though.  He just got it not too long ago.

I have a funny feeling that soon enough I'll be back in the saddle of a Harley once again in the not too distant future...........

This is my "limited edition" [sits on top of my gun safe]. Got it as a gift from my son...

Marcus.
