Went out Sat. with the old dogs Ginger and Mary Ann 7 1/2 years old. Saw two Hungarian partridge 12 hens an one rooster. On Sun. I saw one rooster and four hens. Used the "ol Sig Sa-3 12 ga. over under with home grown AA hulls and wads with 1 1/8 oz #5 shot in front of 18.5gr of Hi-Skor 700x moving around 1200fps. Both days I was out for about an hour and got both the roosters I saw. On Sun. I took out the pup "Princess" half Chocolate Lab half Boarder Collie. Man the energey she has. I'm not sure if she's trying to flush em or heard em. I only had to zap her twice and she figured out early it was better to hang with the old folks. My sister came up from Florida to go hunting and took my parents out to our home farm about 30 miles from the South Dakota boarder. They were shocked to see three roosters and two ducks left in the yard. Most likely from hunters that were over their limit. We don't have it that easy aound here but it doesn't matter. Stuff like that gives hunting a bad name.

Anyway the sound a cackling rooster busting sure gets the adrenaline flowing. Cures all ailments.

Opener 2007

A lot like last year. Got two roosters in about :45 this morning. The old dogs are even older and the pup is working better than expected. The $3500 we stuck in her to repair her smashed pelvis and leg from being run over is working to my advantage. She can't run as fast as she used to and is staying well within gun range. Around my yard she walks with a limp and rarely puts the bad leg down. Out in the field today you'd never know she had a sore wheel. Asprin and a extra portion of kibble for everyone tonite.

Deaddog we are going out for birds after the Thanksgiving Holiday. We got a new trailer for the two 3 dog boxes and will mount the ATV's behind them if all goes well. Then its off to South Dakota with 6 dogs and my wife.

Im sorry guys, but my pheasant hunting consists of loading my 1200 going out to my back yard, shooting a couple of cocks and going back in the house to watch television.
