gun sighted in, ammo reloaded, clothes packed, lunches ready in pack

3 am full tank of gas for drive to mountains for opening day of deer, fresh thermos of coffee and a mug of joe for drinking while walking around

Then I look in a mirror, right eye is swollen almost closed.

Few months ago, I had cataract surgery on that eye, then tuesday had cancer removed from my temple on that side.  Not sure what is the cause.  Called 5 ophthalmologists, all offices closed, same with MOHs guys.  Cancelled out of hunting.

Just will have to wait till monday to see if maybe the swelling will go down.  sucks big time.

I have 3 doe tags and one whitetail buck tag.  Season ended today.  In the last 3 days, Had 5 does in sight broadside standing still.  Passed on them all...too far to carry/drag by myself.  Went in deep to places i hunted with my son when he was 14.  lots of changes to the woods over 31 years, but nostalgic.

Happy I got some hunting in.  wish I had some venison in the freezer.

Back to the mountains for 2 week flintlock season.  I can go into forest a little farther, as  I have a Jet Sled and cold weather means I cab take two days to drag it out, if bears leave meat alone, just another risk.

Face still has some big scabs, looks bad...people in bar seem to 'move way".
